Why a Monastery?
Because, according to Pope Benedict XVI, “the world needs God—not just any god but the
God of Jesus Christ, the God who made himself flesh and blood, who loved us to the
point of dying for us, who rose and created within himself room for man.”
This merciful God lives in his Church, and we in him.
A monastery is a uniquely evident sign of God’s loving presence with us and an
effective instrument of his merciful intention toward us, which Jesus Christ
perfectly communicates to his people.
